Patient:56 Years Old Male
Treatment Date: September 2023
BACKGROUND OF TREATMENT
The patient was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes five years ago. Due to his work environment, he frequently stayed up late and consumed alcohol. Poor dietary control led to frequent high blood sugar levels, with symptoms including excessive thirst, frequent urination, dry mouth, and weight loss. The patient had been taking oral hypoglycemic drugs, but their effectiveness was limited due to his lifestyle. Upon a friend’s recommendation, he visited the clinic for autologous mesenchymal stem cell therapy.
CHANGES AFTER TREATMENT
Before treatment, the patient’s glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) was 7.0 mmol/L (normal range 4.6-6.2), and fasting insulin was 34.3 μU/mL (normal range 2.2-12.4).
After two treatments (each with 150 million cells administered via intravenous injection), his HbA1c dropped to 6.7 mmol/L, and fasting insulin decreased to 10.8μU/mL, returning to the normal range. During the treatment period, he also followed dietary management and increased exercise. After the third treatment, HbA1c further decreased to 6.3 mmol/L, and fasting insulin was 10.7 μU/mL. His blood sugar levels have remained stable since then。
